Consumer Reports July 2017 article confirms tai chi as excellent for preventing falls!

   On Health newsletter from Consumer Reports recommends tai chi for improving congnitive functioning.

Yes, indeed, consistent practice of tai chi helps your brain as well as your body. This article refers to a study from the University of Canberra, Australia, which demonstrated that exercise of many kinds is good for "cognitive function."  A brisk walk of 30 minutes is great, especially if you can do that 5 times a week. AND--the study also found that tai chi, with its low-impact mindful movements is excellent for cognitive functioning too. So be good to your brain, take those walks and practice tai chi!!

                           World Tai Chi & Qigong Day--Woodstock

          Saturday, April 28, 10-11+

Once again we'll be celebrating all things tai chi on the lawn of the Norman Williams Public Library in Woodstock, VT. We join people all over the world in doing tai chi and qigong, joining together in these healthy practices. We'll play with Sun, Yang, and Chen styles, as well as go through our entry level form: Fall Prevention Tai Chi. No experience needed and no cost. Bring a friend, bring your curiosity, bring your interest.

       If the weather proves uncomfortable we'll move to the Library's mezzanine level. Light refreshments will be provided too.
